The site is located in the port area in the southern part of the North Sea island of Helgoland. Helgoland is located about 49 km from the coastline. The site is located 40 m from the edge of the harbour and 300 m from the breakwater. It has the possibility to expose samples under free weathering and under sheltered conditions. The racks are oriented to the southwest.
